St. Ives sent up a small team to this B.J.A. 3* event and all the members of the club fought very well indeed. Alice Piper fought some tough opposition to gain a silver medal in the U36Kg catagory, winning 2 fights by ippon (one within about 20secs.) and was unlucky to loose the final by a hold down. Matilda Shields (T.S. Prep) also gained a silver in a hard fought group fighting with great determination. Sampson Leach pulled out some superb standing and groundwork judo to win a bronze in a large and very competitive group. Meanwhile brother Jacob beat several county players to win a silver in his group with some determined judo, showing that he was not going to be intimidated by reputations. Jessica Burrell completed the medal haul by gaining a silver in he weight group, losing to  a Devon county player in her final, well done Jess. Josh Martindale was unlucky this time fighting up from primary to junior for the first time, fought very hard in a tough group and finished a creditable 6th. Well done to every one who took part you all were a credit to St.Ives J.C.
